Plaza Senayan Sports Hub revolutionizes urban mobility, active lifestyles

P

romoting a healthy urban lifestyle, Plaza Senayan inaugurated Plaza Senayan Sports Hub as its newest facility at the Senayan Square complex on Oct. 14, sponsored by prominent sports brand ASICS.

Inspired by a Japanese concept, this premium Running Station facility features amenities such as lockers, 10 shower rooms, towel rentals and a lounge area. Upon registration, visitors can avail themselves of the facilities for a fee of Rp 50,000.

Additionally, the Sports Hub presents membership packages that offer more benefits, allowing unlimited facility usage for Rp 450,000 per month. Users also have the convenience of registering and completing payments based on their plan through the app available on App Store and Play Store.

Kazuhito Shibuya, president director of PT Senayan Trikarya Sempana, stated that the facility is not only intended to meet the practical needs of the sports community, but also to establish a comfortable sanctuary where individuals can rejuvenate and prepare for their upcoming athletic pursuits.

“It is our aim that this facility will have a positive impact on the community, to reach more of those who are passionate about maintaining an active lifestyle, and of course to set a new standard for luxury malls in Indonesia," he said during the inauguration.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Japanese Ambassador to ASEAN Masahiko Kiya, president director of Gelora Bung Karno Rakhmadi A. Kusumo and president director of ASICS Indonesia Sota Fukushima. The event also featured activities and entertainment such as a 5K “Social Run” and a discussion on the importance of a healthy lifestyle and guidance on selecting suitable sports activities within a hectic schedule featuring celebrities and sports players such as Sahila Hisyam and Ade Putri.

In addition, attendees also had the chance to explore sports shoes at the ASICS booth, participate in fun games for a chance to win prizes, enjoy live DJ entertainment, and savor healthy food and drinks from sponsors like Pocari Sweat and Soyjoy, along with local tenants Byurger, Demie Bakmie and Brookland Coffee.

As a prominent sports brand and sponsor of the event, ASICS is dedicated to nurturing the younger generation and enhancing the running ecosystem. The brand embodies the philosophy of its founder, Kihachiro Onitsuka, reflected in the phrase anima sana in corpore sano (sound mind, strong soul). Aligned with its recent initiative, “Nothing Feels Better,” ASICS emphasizes the extensive research conducted by the ASICS Institute Sports and Science (ISS) for each product, reinforcing the brand's superiority.

ASICS Indonesia’s Fukushima explained that the collaboration between ASICS and Plaza Senayan Sports Hub was motivated by their vision to play a role in advancing the sports culture in Indonesia, with the emphasis on running.

“We believe that health awareness in Indonesia is getting better, but unfortunately we find that there is still a lack of facilities and infrastructure for sports enthusiasts. With Plaza

Senayan Sports Hub, we hope this can address some of the issues that runners face,

especially for those who exercise in the surrounding area,” he said.
