n light of reaching the collective goal of “Indonesia Emas 2045”, the government is collaborating with the private sector to further develop Indonesia’s education system. Recently, the Education, Culture, Research and Technology Ministry proudly announced the signing of a visionary cooperation agreement with 29 strategic partners, one of them being AIA Indonesia. This landmark event, under the banner "Gerakan Kemitraan Sekolah Sehat untuk Anak Indonesia Sehat, Cerdas, dan Berkarakter" (Healthy School Partnership Movement for Healthy, Intelligent Indonesian Children with Character), is set to redefine the landscape of education and student’s well-being.

The Gerakan Sekolah Sehat is a holistic concept encompassing three main focuses, or the 3S’s, which are Sehat Bergizi (Nutritious Health), Sehat Fisik (Physical Health) and Sehat Imunisasi (Immunization Health). The 3S’s approach aspires to cultivate a culture of clean and healthy living in schools. With a focus on promoting nutritious habits, integrating physical activities and supporting immunization initiatives, this movement is poised to shape a healthier future for Indonesian children.

“For four years, the education ministry has been doing many initiatives through Merdeka Belajar to increase the education quality. We realize that the key to our transformation efforts is student’s health. This is why we launched Gerakan Sekolah Sehat, which focuses on implementing healthy behavior and a daily active lifestyle,” said Mendikbudristek Nadiem Anwar Makarim.

Collaboration is the cornerstone, and Minister Nadiem called for a united front. Transforming and instilling healthy behaviors in our children requires a collective effort from diverse partners from various sectors including industry, business, non-governmental organizations and government ministries.

Their support encompasses a range of programs, from health education initiatives to providing communication, information and education (CIE), as well as facilities promoting balanced nutrition and physical activities for students. This collective effort aligns with the mission to create a healthier, more intelligent and talented generation.

Speaking on behalf of AIA Indonesia, CEO Sainthan Satyamoorthy expressed the significance of private-public collaboration in shaping a better education ecosystem. "AIA's collaboration with the education ministry focuses on providing learning materials on hygiene for teachers and schools under the AIA Healthiest Schools program (AHS), aiming to instill clean and healthy living habits. Our vision is for this collaboration to inspire a sustained positive impact on the health and happiness of the younger generation."

In collaboration with renowned child magazine Majalah Bobo from Kompas Gramedia group, the AHS initiative offers extensive and adaptable learning materials for schools. These resources serve as a catalyst, fostering clean and healthy living habits within the school environment.

In sync with the ministry’s Gerakan Sekolah Sehat, the AHS initiative is a tangible commitment to enhancing public awareness. This collaboration aims to educate and empower communities about the importance of adopting healthy habits and lifestyles from an early age. The focus includes promoting healthy eating, active lifestyles, mental health and environmental wellbeing, striving to create a healthy environment for children to learn and grow and helping millions of Indonesian families lead healthier, longer and better lives.
