Cakap’s achieves ISO 27001:2022 certification, a strong commitment to data security Cakap CTO and cofounder Yohan Limerta holds the ISO 27001:2022 certificate alongside Cakap's tech and product division.

akap Chief Technology Officer and cofounder Yohan Limerta emphasized the importance that Cakap achieve the ISO 27001:2022 certification to show its dedication to safeguarding and protecting sensitive, personal and vital data and information. "This certification is a manifestation of Cakap's integrity and commitment to maintaining the security of data, ranging from student data and information, data from our partners and the application database, as well as commercially sensitive and confidential data," Yohan said.

Currently, Cakap's ecosystem consists of four million students and 2,000 teachers from various disciplines. Cakap's learning materials are delivered online or though hybrid learning and are stored in a dedicated network using an application system developed by Cakap. This underscores the significance of ISO 27001:2022 certification for technology-based companies like Cakap to prevent undesired incidents such as data breaches.

The certification also serves as Cakap's compliance with Law No. 27/2022 on personal data protection. "Especially in this era of openness and rapid information, Cakap is committed to making data and information security a top priority," Yohan added.

Meanwhile, PT SGS Indonesia Director of Knowledge Waras Putri Andrianti stated that with this certification, a brand gains increased trust from the public. Moreover, the audit process for this certification is not easily obtained; it is stringent in ensuring compliance with information security management standards. "This certificate will transform the culture of the entity/organization, especially in maintaining the confidentiality of information, thus is expected to be a key factor in the business growth of a brand," Waras said.

PT Siggap Teknologi Internasional CEO Purwadi, who assisted Cakap in obtaining the certificate, added that currently there is an increasing number of company compliance (including relatively new companies like start-ups) in achieving ISO 27001. This is crucial to ensure that information security management and governance are well-controlled. "Companies ranging from small, medium to large are now aware of ISO 27001. This is also a form of compliance with regulators such as the OJK [Financial Services Authority] and BI [Bank Indonesia], and to ensure information security management for the company/start-up itself," Purwadi. said.

The ISO 27001:2022 certification is crucial for any brand operating in the technology sector to enhance trust levels among all stakeholders. However, the fact remains that not all start-ups in Indonesia are conscious of meeting certified data security standards.

This certification serves as evidence that Cakap is not only compliant with regulatory requirements but also continuously working to improve quality. "We appreciate the efforts of all parties involved in achieving this certification because, once again, this reflects our commitment to safeguarding the data and information of the entire Cakap ecosystem," Yohan concluded.
