Jokowi surprises Iriana with locally crafted bag from PNM Wonogiri customers

resident Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and First Lady Iriana extended their greetings to 5,000 PNM Mekaar customers from Wonogiri regency at Krisak Singodutan stadium in Wonogiri, Central Java, on Thursday.
While touring and observing products on offer by PNM customers, the President took interest in two specific items that he showcased during his speech. The first was locally produced Wonogiri coffee, neatly packaged and, according to him, ready to compete at a competitive price. The second product was an attractive bag crafted by one of the PNM customers.
"The second [product I’ve selected] is a bag, and I want to give this to Mrs. Jokowi," he said, looking toward Iriana. "This bag, with its excellent design, was sold for Rp 50,000 [US$3.17], meaning it can compete with similar bags from other countries," he continued.
According to him, the bag exhibited top-notch quality, from the design and packaging to the stitching, and its affordable price made it competitive not only in the domestic market but also on the international stage.
"Mrs. Jokowi will surely be happy with this," he said.
These highlighted products are just a glimpse into the diverse range of products from ultra-micro entrepreneurs affiliated with PNM Mekaar. Despite being categorized as ultra-micro or small in scope, Jokowi said he saw the potential for all customers to elevate their businesses.
"All you ladies here are entrepreneurs, in the micro or small category, that's another matter. But this will improve. The small can become medium, the medium can become large,” Jokowi said.
