long the idyllic seaside town of Sanur, located on the south of Bali, stands Maya Sanur Resort & Spa, a haven between the lush tropical gardens and the white sandy beach. Additionally, nestled amidst the serene landscapes of Ubud, Maya Ubud Resort & Spa offers another enchanting retreat.

Overlooking the boardwalk of the former fishing village, the strategic resort blends contemporary and traditional designs of the island, making it one of the most sought-after establishments of the island.

On top of the panoramic views that are synonymous with the island of Bali, the resort offers an impeccable five-star service, under the leadership of Jesus Gisbert Carbonell, the resort’s General Manager.

With over two decades’ experience spanning eight countries under his belt, Jesus has honed his craft in both international hotel giants, as well as independent properties. After postings in Spain, Peru, Morocco and Equatorial Guinea, he has brought his skills to Indonesia to elevate the reputation of Maya Sanur Resort & Spa.

“My responsibilities include prioritizing managerial development through collaborative goal setting, enhancing the guest experience by staying attuned to trends, fostering a culture of excellence to exceed expectations and optimizing resources for efficiency. These strategies empower our team to excel in the competitive hospitality landscape, ensuring Maya Resorts remains a top choice for our valued guests,” he said.

Before he gained expertise in cluster hotel management, operational excellence, revenue generation and team leadership, he was surrounded with visionaries from an early age. Drawing inspiration from his youth soccer coach and experienced managers he previously worked with, he credits them with the lifelong values of teamwork and collaboration that fuels his ethos.

Along with the integration of cultural traditions that are indigenous to the island of Bali, Jesus also pays attention to the evolving trends in the hospitality industry and the ever-changing needs of his guests to ensure that Maya Resort can provide the most exceptional service.

“We achieve this by actively listening to your feedback, maintaining a flexible design that accommodates emerging technologies and amenities, investing in our staff training and development, prioritizing sustainability and wellness, collaborating with local experts, staying connected with you through social media and continuously reviewing and adapting our strategies,” he stated, addressing the guests.

The pandemic gave Jesus and his team the opportunity to renovate the suites and villas, as well as the opening of the Kids Club at Maya Ubud Resort & Spa, and the enhancement of the Tree Bar and Mayasari Restaurant at Maya Sanur Resort & Spa. By the time the world resorted back to normal, guests were enchanted with the new developments.

As we look to the future, the innovation does not stop there.

“At Maya Sanur Resort & Spa, we're thrilled to welcome our new Corporate Executive Chef, Justin Maut é, renowned for his Michelin-starred background with Yannick Alleno. Additionally, the upcoming addition of an International Hospital and new mall in the Sanur area promises added convenience and excitement for our guests. We're also integrating advanced technology to elevate guest experiences, in line with our commitment to excellence. In Maya Ubud Resort & Spa, all villas will now offer butler service, upgraded amenities, and refreshed dining areas. We're also expanding activities and transportation options, reaffirming our dedication to creating unforgettable experiences at Maya Resorts,

Moreover, we wish to express our heartfelt gratitude to the board of directors for their unwavering support during challenging times. Their commitment enabled us to retain over 500 local employees, reflecting our core values of supporting local communities. We see this moment as an important achievement, and it fuels our determination to continue providing exceptional service and contributing positively to the communities we serve," Jesus concluded.
