T Pertamina Patra Niaga, Pertamina’s commercial and trading subholding company, responded swiftly to customer complaints regarding an employee at a gas station in Denpasar, Bali. Pertamina Patra Niaga immediately terminated the employment of said employee.
"Pertamina Patra Niaga immediately checked the gas station in question after the incident, and the operator who was indicated to have committed extortion was terminated [from employment] at the first opportunity," Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Heppy Wulansari informed on Aug. 13, 2024.
Pertamina Patra Niaga asked gas station managers to improve supervision so that the incident and similar cases would not reoccur. The company is committed to prioritizing consumer comfort in accordance with applicable regulations.
"This incident is a lesson for all gas stations to improve supervision in the field so that there are no more employees who carry out extortion or provide services that are not in accordance with company rules," Heppy stated.
"We apologize for this incident. If consumers find issues when refueling [their vehicles] at Pertamina gas stations or receive inappropriate services, they can report it to the Pertamina call center at 135," she added.
