T Medikaloka Hermina Tbk’s commitment to building and developing hospitals in the Nusantara Capital City region has now come to fruition with the official opening of Hermina Nusantara Hospital, the 50th member of the Hermina Group, located in Sepaku Sub-District, North Penajam Paser, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.
The hospital’s inauguration was marked by the Grand Opening event on Friday, October 11, 2024, beginning with a hospital tour led by President Ir. H. Joko Widodo. The official opening was signaled by the pressing of a siren button by President Joko Widodo, accompanied by Dr. Hasmoro, President Director of PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk, and the signing of a commemorative plaque to symbolize the hospital's mission to provide fast and accurate services prioritizing patient safety, supported by the digitalization of hospital electronic medical records.
The hospital’s master plan features a modern and elegant design, consisting of eight floors covering 28,210 square meters on a 20,700-square-meter site. Construction began in early 2024, and the hospital currently has five completed floors. The full eight-story plan will gradually be completed, ready to serve outpatients, inpatients, and provide emergency room (ER) services.
“I highly appreciate the speed of Hermina Nusantara Hospital’s construction, which was practically completed in about 10 months and is now operational to receive patients. This development will instill confidence in the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) who will soon relocate to the Nusantara Capital City,” said President Joko Widodo.
“We’ve initially opened with 50 beds, and after the Grand Opening, construction will continue until early 2025 when we plan to open 100 beds. Hermina Nusantara Hospital was established as a token of gratitude to God and to the Government, as the number of Hermina hospitals has grown from 21 hospitals at the end of 2014 to 51 hospitals by the end of 2024—an average of 3 hospitals per year. The total number of beds has risen from 1,600 to 7,700, an increase of 6,100 beds,” explained Dr. Hasmoro, President Director of PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk.
Dr. Hasmoro also mentioned that Hermina Nusantara Hospital is supported by Hermina Balikpapan and Hermina Samarinda hospitals, and in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, it will open in stages, with support from various insurance companies in Indonesia.
Looking back, after the agreement signing and the issuance of a decree by the Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) Deputy for Planning and Land Affairs in September 2023 allocating land for PT Medikaloka Hermina Tbk, Hermina began construction with a groundbreaking ceremony on November 1, 2023, followed by laying the foundation on December 22, 2023, and a soft opening on August 17, 2024.
“From the start, we have been committed to supporting Nusantara Capital City because we see immense future potential as it continues to grow,” added Dr. Hasmoro. “In the future, Hermina Nusantara Hospital aims to become an eco-green and smart hospital, with national and international accreditation, to serve a broader range of executive and non-executive patients,” he continued.
Additionally, in September, Hermina held the grand opening of Hermina Madiun Hospital as its 49th member. Hermina expresses gratitude for the overwhelming support from the government and all stakeholders involved from the market research phase. The hope is that Hermina Nusantara Hospital will be well-received and beneficial to the surrounding community.
