Bali continues its policy of granting Rp 300 million to each customary village in 2024, aiming to preserve and promote the Balinese culture through various programs.
he Bali provincial administration is continuing the distribution of Rp 300 million (US$19,090) grants for each listed customary village within the province this year, with a total of 1,493 villages receiving the grant.
This grant aims to preserve and promote Balinese customs, traditions, arts and culture. The total budget for the grant this year is Rp 447.9 billion.
Bali Customary Community Development Agency head I Gusti Agung Ketut Kartika Jaya Seputra said that the grants would be distributed in three installments throughout the year, following a similar pattern in 2023.
Ketut added that seven newly established customary villages were not eligible for the grants yet, as they had yet to fulfill the requirements for receiving the grant.
"Seven new customary villages have been designated in Bali, bringing the total to 1,500 villages. However, these new villages are not yet eligible for the grant," he said on Thursday, as quoted by Antara news agency.
“We are still processing those seven villages and they are still not included in the Bali provincial Bylaw No. 4/2019 on customary villages in Bali.”
Bali has two types of villages to conform to its special characteristics of being a province with a Balinese Hindu majority.
