T

he Indonesian Air Force placed an order for four Airbus H145 light helicopters during the Bali International Airshow in Badung, Bali, on Wednesday as part of an effort to modernize its flight training program.

Based on an agreement between the Indonesian Air Force and state-owned aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI), European aerospace manufacturer Airbus will deliver four five-bladed H145 helicopters to PTDI, Airbus said in a media statement.

Airbus Helicopters business and development director Régis Antomarchi and PTDI commercial, technology and development director M. Arif Faisal signed the agreement.

PTDI will manage the reassembling process and install mission equipment and other custom modifications in Bandung before delivering the helicopters to the Indonesian Air Force.

The multimission helicopter will be used for military training and search and light rescue missions.
