igital education application Ruang GTK has been named as one of the Top 10 finalists for the inaugural Global EdTech Prize in the Non-Profit category.

Founded by T4 Education with the support of Owl Ventures and Digital Promise, the Global EdTech Prize recognizes trailblazing tools grappling with the most crucial challenges in education, T4 Education said in a press release on Thursday.

Developed by the Elementary and Secondary Education Ministry, Ruang GTK grew out of Platform Merdeka Mengajar, initially developed by the former Education, Culture, Research and Technology Ministry.

Ruang GTK is an inclusive, scalable digital platform designed to empower teachers nationwide to address the urgent need for equitable professional development across Indonesia.

The platform enables educators to upskill independently through self-paced, high-quality training modules tailored to their specific needs and teaching contexts. It allows them to access ready-to-use teaching materials that are aligned with the national curriculum and adaptable to real classroom challenges.

Teachers can collaborate and share best practices within a dynamic, nationwide community of teachers and school leaders through the platform.

By democratizing access to continuous professional development and fostering a peer-driven learning culture, Ruang GTK ensures that every teacher, regardless of geographic or socioeconomic barriers, has the tools, resources and community support needed to grow professionally.

Ruang GTK represents a transformative shift toward a more equitable, resilient education system that is centered on students and sustained by empowered teachers.

T4 Education and Global EdTech Prize founder Vikas Pota congratulated Ruang GTK on the distinction of becoming a finalist for the inaugural Global EdTech Prize.

“You, and your fellow finalists, have harnessed innovation and placed it in the service of humanity,” he said as quoted by the release.

“In using technology to solve the greatest challenges in education, you are making a difference to so many lives. The Global EdTech Prize gives you the platform you need to go on and scale that impact.”

Judged by educators themselves, the prize provides a vital platform to help companies and organizations scale their products, tools or services and their impact worldwide. It celebrates EdTechs that are making a real difference to the next generation and champions innovative tech solutions that actually work for the people who matter most, educators, their students and their communities.

The prize will be awarded in three categories: Non-Profits, Start-Ups and Majors, recognizing outstanding EdTech products, tools or services based. Winners will be announced live at the World Schools Summit in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 16.

The Top 10 finalists will all be invited to the World Schools Summit, where they will showcase their work before an Expert Panel comprising leading figures in the technology and education sectors, including investors and policymakers from around the world.

The Expert Panel will narrow down the final three per category who will present their products and tools before educators at the World Schools Summit. Educators will vote by secret ballot to determine the winner of each category, and they will be announced live on stage at the culmination of the summit.

Other than Ruang GTK, other finalists in the Non-Profit Category include Gurukul by Avanti Fellows and Pragati by Room to Read India Trust from India, Nova Escola by Nova Escola Association from Brazil, Potential Student At-Risk AI Tool by Higher Colleges of Technology, United Arab Emirates and Tablet-Based Foundational Learning Program by Imagine Worldwide, by a joint team from Malawi, Sierra Leone and Tanzania.
