Holiday Inn Express Thamrin is a good choice if you want to stay in a practical hotel during Idul Fitri. You can wash your own clothes using its washing machine (additional charge applies) and you can walk to nearby shopping malls in your spare time, with Grand Indonesia nearby. There is only one room-type here though, a standard room with queen or twin bed at the current room rate of Rp 765,000 per night.

Kosenda

Still on Jl. Wahid Hasyim, there is another interesting hotel called Morrissey that has rooms equipped with a mini kitchen. Among its facilities are a self-laundry service and a swimming pool. Those who intend to bring their family can opt for Morrissey's signature studio room or one-bedroom executive with a mezzanine-style bedroom with a starting price of Rp 980,000. Aside from being relatively close to Plaza Indonesia, the property is also around a seven-minute walk to Gondangdia train station.

Kristal Hotel

Situated in TB Simatupang in South Jakarta, this property is relatively close to the upscale Pondok Indah area. The hotel is like a serviced apartment, catered to business types, but also a good choice for the Idul Fitri holiday as some rooms are equipped with a kitchen. Laundry and breakfast service are excluded from the basic price, which starts at Rp 880,000. (kes)
