f you’re in the loop vis-à-vis children’s movies - whether or not you have children of your own - you surely know that Ice Age: Collision Course is the fifth movie of the franchise.

Featuring a chunk of celebrity cast members such as Ray Romano as Manny the wooly mammoth, John Leguizamo as Sid the ground sloth, and even newbie and YouTuber Lilly Singh as Bubbles and Misty, two residents of Geotopia, the 3D computer-animated film is a comedic adventure full of family values and slick jokes.

Collision Course deserves some points though for its creativity. The animation is incredible, complete with vivid and eye-catching colors for your little ones. In addition to wacky characters such as Shangri Llama (voiced by Jesse Tyler Ferguson), it is an engaging movie.

But, are visuals and silly characters enough to make a movie truly entertaining? Those aspects of the fifth Ice Age only serve to make up for its lack of plot development. The story is simple and easy to grasp, yet the movement of the plot is rather slow. Even so, the final scene is a tad more riveting than the antithesis. (jam/kes)
