atsune Miku is one of the most prominent names in otaku culture–a virtual idol born from the Vocaloid voice synthesizer program that has enjoyed worldwide fame through various user-created songs, comics, concerts and most prominently SEGA’s Project Diva rhythm game series. Now she is getting her very first shampoo commercial.
Lux is partnering with Miku to help market its new shampoo product and what’s more, the virtual idol will be doing it with none other than Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson, reports Kotaku.
In the teaser video, Miku tells viewers how she’ll be starring in her first shampoo commercial while holding the advertised product like a real pro celebrity. She also mentions how she’ll be working with a Hollywood actress.

However, this is not the first time the virtual idol appears on regular television. She previously appeared in a Toyota advertisement for the U. Corolla campaign. She also appeared as a guest in the David Letterman show in 2014.
