View all search resultsS-based online retail giant Amazon is reportedly set to establish a presence in Singapore in the first quarter of 2017 as it is seeking to tap into the Southeast Asia market.
Following its plans to expand its market through Singapore, the company is said to have prepared assets such as refrigerated trucks and has recruited employees, as reported by TechCrunch.

According to kompas.com, rumors had also circulated regarding Amazon's interest to enter Indonesian market and how it had prepared a budget reaching US$600 million for its first year in the country.
However, Amazon is said to be currently focusing on Singapore due to its smaller geographical size, which will ease operational activities. Furthermore, the Asian country's consumer rate of expenditure and culture is also quite similar to the other Western markets dominated by the retail giant. (wir/kes)
