Soon, you can say you were a student of Gordon Ramsay.

Starting early next year, the Michelin-starred British chef will be offering an online cooking class on MasterClass.com.

There are 15 video lessons in all over four hours and include knife skills, shopping for ingredients and cooking demonstrations for recipes such as risotto, pan-fried salmon and beef Wellington. Pre-registration is now open.

MasterClass is an education platform that offers online courses curated by world-class instructors. Here are some of the instructors and the classes they have taught: Kevin Spacey – acting; Christina Aguilera – singing; Serena Williams – tennis; James Patterson – writing; and Usher – art of performance.

The classes are between two and five hours long and cost US$90 (RM396) each. They include pre-recorded video content, a class workbook, interactive assignments and community activities.

Although we’ve seen a lot of him on television for many years now, in the promotional video for the online course, Ramsay talks about showing a side of him that’s never been shown before.

“Everything I’ve learnt, understood, stolen, perfected is laid bare across this MasterClass. It’s the first time ever you would learn how to cook those ingredients from start to finish,” he says.

“I’ve spent the last 30 years busting my arse off to get on the plate what I’m about to show you. Watch but watch f**king carefully.”

Looks like Mr Ramsay cannot avoid those f-bombs even as a teacher.
