VLC developer VideoLAN has announced that it will bring the same capability to mobile devices and virtual reality (VR) headsets next year, which means users will be able to watch 360-degree content on their smartphone by pointing the device at various angles. For VR headsets, VideoLAN boasts that it will not only support visual content but also audio.
For desktop users of Windows 7 or MacOS 10.10 and above, this feature is available for free download. (fmn/kes)
