Five most-watched scenes of K-Drama ‘Goblin’

Prior to the airing of the last two special episodes, fans of K-drama Goblin, also known as Guardian: The Great and Lonely God, may be interested in reliving some of the series' most-watched moments.

-drama Goblin, also known as Guardian: The Great and Lonely God, officially ended in its 16th episode on Jan. 21. Throughout its time on air, the series kept on breaking records as Korea’s most watched cable TV drama.

According to local pollster AGB Nielsen Korea, the show ended up with a viewer rating of about 21 percent in Seoul and 18.6 percent nationwide. Broadcasting station tvN is not planning to let such popularity go to waste and has decided to air two more special episodes containing unseen material and behind-the-scenes footage on Feb. 3 and 4.

Prior to the airing of the last two episodes, fans may be interested to relive some of the series' most-watched moments. According to the production team, here are several minute-long scenes recorded as the most-watched parts of Goblin. Beware of spoilers.

Episode 10

The most-watched minute of episode 10 was when Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) learned that Kim Sun (Yoo In-na) was the reincarnation of his sister. The scene garnered 15 percent of ratings while, according to AGB Nielsen Korea, the whole episode 10 ended with a 14.55 percent viewership rating in Seoul and 12.7 percent nationwide.

Episode 11

In episode 11, there was a scene where Kim Shin hugged his bride Ji Eun-tak (Kim Go-eun) after saving her from danger. The minute managed to get a 17.2 percent rating, about 1 percent higher than the final rating for the whole episode in Seoul. AGB Nielsen Korea recorded that the episode ended with 13.89 percent nationwide.

Episode 12

In this episode, Kim Shin asked Sunny if Grim Reaper (Lee Dong-wook) was the despised king in a previous life. The one-minute moment garnered 16.4 percent viewership. According to AGB Nielsen Korea, the episode ended with a 15.68 percent rating in Seoul and 13.7 percent nationwide.

Episode 15

Although it didn’t reveal the exact rating, the production team revealed that the scene where Kim told Grim Reaper that Ji had finally regained her memory recorded the highest viewership rating in episode 15. According to AGB Nielsen Korea, the episode ended with an 18.89 percent rating in Seoul and 16.91 percent rating nationwide.

Episode 16

Similar to episode 15’s best minute, the production team also did not reveal the exact rating for episode 16’s best moment. However, it was revealed that the best minute of the episode was Grim Reaper and Sunny’s first meeting after reincarnation. (asw)
