he latest version of photography app for smartphone, Adobe Lightroom Mobile, has allowed iOS and Android users to capture HDR (High Dynamic Range) mode in RAW format.
According to dailysocial.id, HDR is a solution for capturing photos in difficult lighting, such as when the object is in front of the lighting source, creating a backlight.
Compared to other apps, which mostly use JPEG format for their HDR mode, the Adobe Lightroom Mobile utilizes Adobe's RAW image format called Digital Negative (DNG), which automatically combines three different photos into one.

“By capturing three raw shots and merging them on the phone, you'll get a greatly increased dynamic range with the ability to edit and share right away,” wrote Adobe on its official blog. Users can later edit their photo on their smartphone, ranging from exposure to adjustments.
This new feature can be downloaded for free and users will not have to register as members of Adobe Creative Cloud. However, transforming desktop-caliber algorithms to mobile devices will require certain devices to allow the app to run smoothly, namely iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus and iPhone SE; iPad Pro 9.7”, Samsung S7 and S7 Edge; and Google Pixel and Pixel XL. Also, keep in mind that HDR mode usually takes up a lot of smartphone memory. (wir/kes)
