armin, an American-based technology company is partnering with Erajaya Group, a mobile device retailer and distributor in Indonesia.
The partnership enables Garmin to market its newest products in Erajaya's stores, namely the Erafone stores and Urban Republic, as well as in other select retailers.
Among the products made available since the partnership was announced on Mar. 23 are the vívofit 3, vívosmart HR and vívosmart HR+ activity trackers, as well as GPS running watch Forerunner 35. Garmin is also distributing the HD action camera VIRB Ultra 30 in Indonesian stores.

Engelhard (Al) Sundoro, managing director of Garmin Southeast Asia said that the partnership is a strategy to expand business into the region. Previously, the brand had just established its Southeast Asian headquarters in Singapore and had entered the Vietnam market. Engelhard also said that the partnership is expected to make it easier for consumers to obtain Garmin’s products in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Djatmiko Wardoyo, marketing and communications director of PT Erajaya Swasembada Tbk said that the partnership is part of the company’s commitment in “enlarging Indonesia’s technology industry by bringing in new brands and products to stimulate the growth of the Indonesian market."
Garmin has also appointed Teletama Artha Mandiri, a subsidiary company of Erajaya, to conduct aftermarket services in Indonesia. (asw)
