T

he eighth installment of Casa Indonesia is slated to run until Sunday at the Ballroom in The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta hotel in Pacific Place, South Jakarta.

Themed “Completeness and Beyond Happiness”, the annual design and living exhibition returns with local arts, showcasing meaningful installations that aim to bring limitless imagination to the audience.

The four-day exhibition is supported by the Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) and involves more than 60 exhibitors.

The installation area is divided into several creative zones, namely Designer’s Showcase, Cook and Design, Architectural Project and Hystoria Video Tunnel. Each zone is said to present different types of installations, varying from imaginative installations, room installations and Indonesian architecture milestones to videos about architectural figures, interior design and product designs.

In addition to the creative zones, the 2017 Casa Indonesia is also dedicating space for young designers and hosting the Casa Design Challenge.

The 2017 Casa Indonesia’s exhibition director Cosmas D. Gozali said in a press release that the event was a good setting for young designers, professional design consultants and other art creators to collaborate and commercialize their creations.

“The combination of handicrafts as traditional culture and technology will be the new strength for Indonesian designs,” Cosmas added. (kes)
