ell has released the world's first wireless charging laptop, the Latitude 7285 2-in-1, a versatile tablet with an attachable keyboard that transforms it into a clamshell laptop and is sold separately.
The keyboard is the key to the wireless charging feature, a report by The Verge had earlier explained, following Dell's introduction of its product at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, United States, in January.
As a 2-in-1 hybrid, the entire component is already complete inside the tablet display and, when attached to the keyboard, the tablet communicates with Dell's new wireless charging pad.

The starting price for the tablet itself is set at US$1,199 according to Dell's website as announced on Tuesday. However, the price tag does not include the additional accessories, which give it its unique wireless charging feature.
For that, you must fork out an additional $549.99 for a wireless charging keyboard and a wireless charging mat, saving $29.99 when both items are bought together versus separately. As the charging pad is not designed to be used on metal surfaces, the mat would raise the base by at least 50mm, or almost 2 inches.
The Dell Latitude 7285 has an Intel Core i5-7Y54 with 128GB of internal storage, 8GB of RAM and a 12-inch display. (liz/asw)
