ali-based band The Hydrant reportedly performed in front of more than 5,000 people at the 2017 Pohoda Festival in Trencin, Slovakia, last weekend. Dressed in Elvis Presley-esque costumes, they band rocked the main stage with its popular tracks “My Music is Rock ‘n’ Roll” and “Jalan-Jalan”.

Among the 130 performers, Antara news agency reported that The Hydrant was the only rockabilly band to appear at the festival.

Although The Hydrant’s name may not ring a bell for most local music enthusiasts, the band is no stranger to the annual Slovakian open-air music festival.

Prior to this, the band, featuring vocalist Marshello, lead guitarist Vincent, stand up drummer Christopper and upright bassist Adi, also performed at the 2009 Pohoda Festival.

Indonesian Ambassador to Slovakia Adityatwidi "Wieke" Adiwoso expressed her happiness to see The Hydrant’s participation in the festival.

The band members said in a joint statement that they used the opportunity to establish networks with European musicians. (jes/asw)
