fter successfully releasing Koil: Dragonian Warriors comic book in 2016, Bandung-based industrial rock band Koil is set to launch a new comic book titled Koil: Fallen Gods at the Popcon Asia 2017 in Jakarta Convention Center, South Jakarta, slated on Aug. 5-6.

“We don’t want the comic book to stop in one edition. The purpose is to preserve full-action comic books that feature many fighting and bombing scenes, just like Barry Prima [Indonesia's legendary action actor]'s film,” said Koil vocalist Otong in a press release. “This second comic book will feature a robotic figure [similar to] Japanese robots that became our superheroes when we were little, so it will give a nostalgic feeling and is also packed with more action.”

A prequel of the Dragonian Warriors, Koil: Fallen Gods is set in the future, in a world that has been severely damaged by a big war and is home to colonies of survivors whose lives are still threatened by giant monsters.

In the comic book, which was illustrated and written by Patra Aditia who handled the first edition, Koil members will be visualized as Prajurit Naga (Dragon Warriors), a group of wanderers who are blessed with super powers. Leon (drummer) plays the Beast Master who is able to tame wild creatures, Adam (bass player) becomes an expert in technology, Doni (guitarist) is a strategy and weapon guru, while Otong poses as the leader and the strongest among all.

The first chapter of Koil: Dragonian Warriors can be read for free on kosmik.id. (kes)
