ollowing their engagement in May, popular Indonesian singer Raisa Andriana and actor Hamish Daud Wyllie tie the knot in an intimate wedding on Sunday at the Ayana MidPlaza Hotel in Central Jakarta.

The couple started the day by reciting their vow in the Akad Nikah ceremony in the same hotel at 9 a.m., before proceeding with the traditional Sundanese rituals Sawer and Huap Lingkung when the newly-wed fed each other with food, symbolizing an aspiration for a harmonious relationship between a husband and wife.

Following the ritual, the bride and the groom, wearing traditional white attires designed by VeraKebaya, were then ushered into the hotel's ballroom to greet their family and close friends in a lunch reception.

In the evening, the couple will have another intimate dinner reception where Raisa wore dresses designed by Elie Saab and Jenny Packham. Hamish, meanwhile, is dressed in a formal wear by Hugo Boss. In this reception, the two were again joined by members of their family and close friends.

Ayunda Wardhani, the editor in chief of Bridestory who serves as the couple’s wedding consultant, said that it was not difficult to realize Raisa and Hamish’s wedding dream, although it took around five months to prepare for the moment.

“They love everything natural and simple, therefore they opt for rustic theme for their wedding,” Ayunda said. As for the Sundanese theme, Ayunda said that it was natural, given that Raisa had a Sundanese background.

The wedding reception venue is dominated with pastel colors, such as white, lilac grey and dusty purple. They are combined with green leaves to give the rustic and natural touch.

After the wedding ceremony, Raisa said that she would “travel the world” with her husband. “’Insya Allah’ [God willing], we will go on a trip,” Raisa said. “[I] will have my best travel buddy ever and I surely want my husband to be my guide.”

The two, however, said that the honeymoon would likely be short. “I’m now doing a music project that is expected to come out at the end of this year,” Raisa said, adding that she planned to give a surprise to her legion of fans, also known as YourRaisa.

Meanwhile, Hamish said that he would pursue projects in education and environmental protection. “As for my forthcoming project, I will be more involved to those things,” he said.

Hamish said that they met when both were involved in Rectoverso movie in 2013. “I found energy from Yaya [Raisa] that I’ve never found before. She’s always be there to support everything that I want to do and make me to be a better human being,” he said.

When the couple announced their engagement on May 21, netizens dubbed the day as National Heartbreak Day using the hashtag #HariPatahHatiNasional. “We appreciate the energy coming from everyone, the hashtag was funny,” Hamish said about response from their fans.
