A

merican singing star Bruno Mars will play a second show in Singapore next year, on May 7, in addition to the earlier announced May 6 concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Organizers Live Nation Lushington announced the new date less than an hour after ticket sales started on Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. for the May 6 show, citing the "overwhelming response" to the original show.

Tickets for both shows, from SG$168 (US$124) to $348, are currently on sale through ticketing agency Sports Hub Tix.

The organizers have also released additional tickets for the May 6 show for seats on the left and right side of the stage that "may have an obstructed view of the main stage's rear central screen".

The concerts come four years after Mars last performed at the same venue in 2014.

Mars, 32, is one of most successful solo singers in the contemporary pop scene. More than just a singer, he is also an accomplished songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist with 21 Grammy nominations and five wins, including Record of the Year for his 2016 single with British producer Mark Ronson, Uptown Funk.
