resident Joko "Jokowi" Widodo has conveyed his delight at the recent musical performance of his Cabinet ministers at the wedding reception of State Secretary Pratikno’s daughter in Yogyakarta over the weekend.
"I appreciate what happened the other day -- the Elek Yo [How Ugly] band; ugly doesn't matter. I think it showed our solidarity," Jokowi said during the opening of the Cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday as quoted by tempo.co.
Members of the band included Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi on guitar, Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, who played the tambourine, while Public Works and Public Housing Minister Basuki Hadimuljono provided the beats on drums.

Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) head Triawan Munaf played the keyboards as Home Minister Tjahjo Kumolo sang on the occasion.
Presidential Chief of Staff Teten Masduki and Foreign Minister Retno LP Marsudi lent their voices, along with Manpower Minister Hanif Dhakiri, who showed off his guitar and vocal skills.
Hanif said their performance had been received positively, adding that the band had been offered gigs at various events and weddings. Vice President Jusuf Kalla also joked about inviting the band to sing at a friend's wedding, Hanif added.
"There have been a lot of offers. Some TV programs have requested us; there is also a media outlet that wants to invite us to their anniversary party -- I won't mention who," Hanif said.
Hanif said whether the band performed again would be at the discretion of its manager, the President.
At the wedding, the band performed a number of popular songs, including Slank’s “Ku Tak Bisa” (I Can’t), which was requested by President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who was also present; God Bless’ “Rumah Kita” (Our House); Iwan Fals hit “Bento”; and another Slank hit, “Balikin” (Give it Back).
