tand-up comedian/film director/scriptwriter Ernest Prakasa is set to hold a free writing workshop in five cities across the country.
Ernest told kompas.com that he had vowed to hold the events if his latest movie, Susah Sinyal (Hard to Get Cell phone Service) reached 2 million viewers.
However, Ernest has yet to disclose the cities, saying that he would share the information via Instagram.
Ernest said the idea of holding a writing workshop came about after receiving an award in Yogyakarta for his previous movie, Cek Toko Sebelah (Check the Shop Next Door).

“I just found out that there was a film award in Yogyakarta; a local [award] that could help nurture local [talents],” said Ernest, adding that Makassar in South Sulawesi also had a film and writers community.
Regarding the workshop, Ernest said he would select 10 to 15 participants.
In addition to holding a writing workshop, tempo.co reported that Ernest had also launched a novel version of Susah Sinyal in collaboration with author Ika Natassa. Book pre-orders reportedly sold out within 30 minutes. (jes/kes)
