Easter is one of the most important Christian festivals. Prior to Easter, some Christians spend 40 days fasting and praying to commemorate Jesus’ time in the wilderness.

Easter Sunday marks the end of the Holy Week, which is celebrated to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Besides holding a church service, Easter Sunday usually also features scrumptious dishes and a plethora of activities for children, such as egg hunting and egg painting.

This year, Easter Sunday falls on April 1. Those looking for places to celebrate the festival might have a look at the list below.

Mandarin Oriental Jakarta

On April 1, Cinnamon restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta, Central Jakarta, is offering a family-friendly Easter brunch, featuring a myriad of international and Indonesian dishes.

The promotion is priced at Rp 420,000++ and it includes children's activities, namely egg hunting and egg painting.

Furthermore, The Mandarin Cake Shop is offering hot-cross buns, a classic Easter spiced sweet bun made of currants, cinnamon and raisins. The buns, commonly consumed on Good Friday, are only available for a limited time and 15 percent of the proceeds from the hot-cross buns will be donated to Rachel House, a non-profit organization focusing on palliative care service for children.

The Dharmawangsa Jakarta

Situated in South Jakarta, The Dharmawangsa Jakarta hotel is offering its annual Easter Brunch package with starting prices of Rp 888,000++ (US$64.59) for adults and Rp 688,000++ for children aged 4 to 11 years old.

The brunch is slated to take place at the hotel’s Jakarta Restaurant and The Courtyard, featuring international delicacies such as caviar, foie gras, a seafood flambe station, wild guinea hen with dried plum and raclette cheese.

Furthermore, the Easter Brunch Package also includes children's activities, such as egg hunting, rabbit racing and a bouncy castle.

Raffles Jakarta

Raffles Jakarta hotel in South Jakarta is offering an Easter Sunday brunch promotion priced at 688,000++ per person. Starting at 12 p.m., guests can enjoy a wide array of international dishes at Arts Café by Raffles.

Meanwhile, children can swing by to level 14 to enjoy fun Easter activities, such as egg hunting, egg painting and carnival games, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Priced at Rp 200,000 per child, the entrance fee includes Easter snacks and access for up to two adults.

Those who want to celebrate Easter in the heart of Jakarta might want to consider Keraton at the Plaza.
