An Indonesian martial arts hero appears to have started his journey to the big screen in a contemporary adaptation of the popular Si Buta dari Gua Hantu (Blind Man from the Ghost Cave) comic book.
ollowing Wiro Sableng, we may be expecting another popular martial arts hero to arrive in the big-screen adaptation of Si Buta dari Gua Hantu (The Blind Man from the Ghost Cave).
Director Timo Tjahjanto recently posted on Instagram the title page of the script for "A Man Called Sightless", with the notation "Based on the works of Ganes TH" at the bottom.
According to kompas.com, Ganes TH, or Ganes Thiar Santosa, was the creator of silat (traditional martial art) comic book Si Buta dari Gua Hantu, which was first published in 1967.
Timo only captioned the photo "Every story has a beginning", but it was enough to excite netizens about the upcoming project.

Timo recently posted another clue on his Instagram account, a blurred picture of a man in a dark green costume, captioning it "Origins" alongside a snake emoticon, adding to the thrill for fans of the fictional character.
Timo has been sharing posts since last August on the possibility of a film adaptation of Si Buta dari Gua Hantu.
The hero, Barda Mandrawata, who lost his sight in a tragic incident, graced the big screen in the 1970 adaptation by director Lilik Sudjio, which featured actor Ratno Timoer. Following the first film, the comic-book story was adapted into other feature features between 1972 and 1988, as well as appeared as a television series in 1993. (kes)
