The holy month of Ramadhan has arrived. For one month, Muslims across the globe will fast every day from dawn to sunset.

If you happen to be fasting while visiting Singapore this month, fret not, as you can find halal eateries across the city-state. Kompas.com has compiled a list of halal eateries in Singapore, as recommended by Far East Hospitality.

Singapore Zam Zam

Established in 1908, Singapore Zam Zam is one of the oldest halal restaurants in Singapore.

Found on Arab Street, the eatery serves Indian-Muslim dishes, such as biryani rice, roti prata and murtabak.

Hararu Izakaya

Hararu Izakaya is a halal Japanese restaurant located on the corner of Arab Street.

Open daily from noon until 11 p.m., the restaurant specializes in charcoal-grilled dishes, including surume ika (grilled whole Japanese squid), saba shioyaki (grilled mackerel with salt) and grilled wagyu beef.

Hjh Maimunah Restaurant

Those craving for traditional Melayu dishes may want to drop by Hjh Maimunah Restaurant.

Here, visitors can find nasi Padang served with various side dishes, varying from Sundanese grilled chicken, lemak siput (needle snails cooked in spicy coconut gravy) to sambal goreng, tahu telur and beef rendang.

Those looking for desserts can visit Fluff Bakery. The halal-certified bakery is known for its selection of cupcakes, layered cakes, rustic cakes and tarts.
