You can still catch Yayoi Kusama's masterpieces after Lebaran.
he Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Nusantara (Museum Macan) in West Jakarta reopened on June 19 after temporary closure over the long Idul Fitri holiday, from June 15-18.
The “Life Is The Heart of a Rainbow” exhibition, which features 130 masterpieces by artist Yayoi Kusama, continues to attract a high number of visitors, in its first month. Jason, a visitor, told kompas.com, “I feel like I’m inside Yayoi Kusama’s imagination,” upon entering Kusama’s installation art “space”: "The Spirit of The Pumpkins Descended into the Heavens”.
Jason also complimented Kusama’s other works, which include Dots Obsession and The Obliteration Room. “Those three are my favorite, especially The Obliteration Room,” he added.

Another visitor named Nina, who hails from Tangerang, said she was in awe of The Obliteration Room. “To me, this room speaks volumes about happiness. The colorful polka dots are so fresh,” she said.
Other works of Yayoi Kusama that are popular with visitors include the Gigantic Pumpkin, Narcissus Garden, I Want to Love on The Festival Night, My Eternal Soul and Infinity Mirrored Room - Brilliance of The Souls.
Kusama’s “Life Is The Heart of a Rainbow” exhibition will run until Sept. 9, Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are available through the museum’s website. (asw)
