“I initially told Dewi [that I want to] hold a concert. We have reached our silver wedding anniversary and the number is good,” Armand said, as quoted by Antara news agency. “Thinking back, Dewi and I have a lot of concepts that can be presented to the public,” he added.

Armand saw the concert as a retrospective showcase for both his and Dewi’s works. 

“As Armand Maulana, I’ve been with Gigi for 25 years,” he refers to his band. “For the past three years, I’ve done solo projects. I still want to highlight more parts of me that haven’t been exposed yet,” he said.

For Dewi Gita, the concert is her way of paying tribute to her surroundings.

“This concert is a form of gratitude from both of us. We are still together, thanks to the prayers from our friends and fans,” she said. 

In the concert, the duo will perform a new song by Melly Goeslaw entitled “Terima Kasih Sayang (Perjalanan Cinta)” (Thank You, Dear - A Journey of Love). Melly has long been known as a close friend of Armand and Dewi. 

“The song ‘Terima Kasih Sayang (Perjalanan Cinta)’ is written by Melly Goeslaw. I also see her story with her husband, Anto Hoed in this song. It’s a very good song,” said Armand.

The 1 Hati 1 Cinta concert will feature a number of singers and musicians such as GIGI, RAN, Marion Jola and Electroma. (asw)
