At least 10 customers at a two-story KFC outlet on Jl. Percetakan Negara in Central Jakarta made no effort to clean up after themselves between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
ast food franchise KFC Indonesia's recent social media campaign dubbed #budayabeberes (clean-up-after-yourself culture) has reportedly done little to encourage customers to clean their tables after they finish eating, despite the campaign going viral and attracting many responses from netizens.
According to kompas.com, at least 10 customers at a two-story KFC outlet on Jl. Percetakan Negara in Central Jakarta made no effort to clean up after themselves between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Wednesday.
All of them reportedly left their tables immediately after eating at the restaurant, which has not displayed any information on the #budayabeberes campaign on its premises.
One of KFC employees, Kartika Sari, told kompas.com that she warmly welcomed the campaign, but said only a small number of patrons had heeded it.
"In the past three days, only five people [cleaned their table] on a daily basis, usually during lunch hours. We were mostly the ones who did the cleaning up," said Kartika on Wednesday.
She said none of her colleagues had informed customers of the campaign.
"Perhaps they don't know [about it]. However, a few people asked whether they should clean their own table while showing the social media post on the campaign," said Kartika.
She added that there was only one waste bin in the customer area of the restaurant, which was located on the second floor. "Perhaps those who sit downstairs do not know where to throw the trash. Maybe we should install a signboard [regarding the campaign]. Such issue will have to be discussed with management." (kes)
