ancy a date with a star? An app has launched a competition giving users the chance to win an intimate dinner with actor Verrell Bramasta.
Verrell collaborated with dating application Tantan for a sweepstake in which five lucky users of the app can win an up-close and personal dinner with the celebrity.
Tantan, China’s answer to Tinder, is a dating app with features similar to most dating apps on the market. Users can swipe left if they don’t feel like someone is a good match, while swiping right will match them with the user.
A monthly paid VIP service in the app grants users five “super likes” a day along with unlimited “likes” and “rewinds”. Paying subscribers can also change their location, allowing more potential matches outside their area.
In 2017, Tantan claimed to have 60 million validated users, with six million active on a daily basis. The app has since expanded to India and Southeast Asia.
The latest program, titled “Match on Tantan”, runs from Feb. 9 to Feb. 17. During that period, five female users will be chosen to participate in an intimate dinner with Verrell on Feb. 23.
““I am super excited for the meeting and having the opportunity to meet and get to know new friends while having fun along the way,” the 22-year-old actor said in a statement made available to The Jakarta Post on Friday.
“I believe in building healthy friendships, which may positively influence us and ultimately lead to a better future for all of us.”
Users will have to first match with Verrell by swiping right on his profile, but Verrell will also have to swipe right on the user’s profile.
Users will also have to screenshot and upload their pickup line on their Instagram, where Verrell will decide the five who will be joining him for the dinner.
Tantan marketing director Jack Wu said the program was intended to showcase the app’s “exciting opportunities” to meet others.
“At Tantan, we strive to deliver the best experience for our users to have fun in connecting with new friends, building bigger circles and networks in a more seamless, yet safe manner.”
