For its seventh edition, Art Basel Hong Kong welcomes 242 galleries from more than 30 countries and territories.
This year, over half of the fair's exhibitors count gallery spaces in Asia and the Asia Pacific region. The Kabinett sector -- which offers specially-curated presentations by a selection of exhibitors within their booths -- will particularly highlight established and emerging artists from these areas.

Kuje Gallery is presenting a selection of oil paintings by Yoo Youngkuk (1916-2002), renowned as one of the founders of the Korean abstract movement. Pearl Lam Galleries will also display works by South Korean artist Chun Kwang Young (b.1944).
Other highlights of this section include a retrospective on Taiwan-born minimalist artist Richard Lin (1933-2011). Bonhams is holding a special exhibition of his works from the 1950s to 1970s. A rare piece by the artist, "1.3.1964-Painting Relief," will then go on sale at Bonhams Hong Kong on May 27.

The 2019 Art Basel Hong Kong will also display Tishan Hsu's most recent works at the fair's Grand Marine Center venue. Early pieces of the Chinese-American artist will be on show at Empty Gallery's stand, including his installation "Feed Forward."
In the Galleries section, New York's Acquavella Galleries will present a rare portrait of Metropolitan Museum of Art curator and critic Henry Geldzahler. Painted by David Hockney, "Henry Reading" shows the artist embracing a colorful Cubist style. The seven-and-a-half-foot-tall collaged work is estimated at $15 million.
For its sixth edition, the Film sector brings together 27 film and video works curated by multimedia artist and film producer Li Zhenhua. Among them are Lou Ye's "Spring Fever" -- which won the Best Screenplay Award at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival -- and Yan Bo's latest documentary, "On the Other River Banks in Berlin" which explores Chinese neo-realist artist Liu Xiaodong's 2018 site-specific project in Berlin.
Every year, the Encounters sector is dedicated to presenting large-scale sculpture and installation works by leading artists from around the world.
For the 2019 edition of the art fair, it will present 12 large-scale installations, described by curator Alexie Glass-Kantor as "both a call to action and a proposition to re-energize, re-incarnate, re-innovate, and rise-in the extreme, to find hope in hopelessness." One of the highlights of this section include Elmgreen & Dragset's "City in the Sky" -- a three-dimensional skyline of buildings hanging upside-down above visitors.
Outside of the confines of the Convention Center, the Victoria Harbour hosts street artist KAWS's latest work, a giant inflatable Companion figure floating in the water.
The 2019 Art Basel Hong Kong takes place March 29- 31. Additional information is available on the fair's official website.
