The Neo Capella Amadeus concert was held on Thursday at Teater Kecil in Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta.

The 2019 Neo Capella Amadeus Concert featured popular compositions by Vivaldi, Warlock and Mozart performed by students and teachers of the Amadeus Indonesia Music Institute.

Serving as the bridge between the children orchestra Capellita and the Capella Amadeus String Chamber, the group also features young musicians, with the youngest being only 11 years of age.

For the performance, Neo Capella Amadeus also invited soloist Nino Ario Wijaya. Hailed as the best clarinet player in the country, Nino has performed in various concerts, including the Indonesian Arts Festival in Bali and Simfoni untuk Bangsa (Symphony for the Nation) with the Nusantara Symphony Orchestra.

This time, Neo Capella Amadeus accompanied Nino in Weber’s “Clarinet Quintet Op. 34”. The music institute said in a statement that the composition had never been performed in Indonesia due to its level of difficulty.

In addition to Neo Capella Amadeus’ performance, the music school also introduced a new ensemble called Amadeus Virtuosi during the event. The orchestra played “String Sonata” by Rossini, a composition that requires advanced musical skills. (jes/kes)
