The Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) is set to screen curated films at microcinema Kinosaurus in Kemang, South Jakarta, on June 15 as a starter for its main event in Singapore at the end of the year.
The screening is a part of a string of events titled Travelling Wave, which takes curated films to theaters in Jakarta, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur.
“Even though SGIFF is based in Singapore, we want to better connect with our neighboring film communities through this regional program and the initiatives of the SGIFF Film Academy,” the festival's executive director, Yuni Hadi, said in a statement on Monday.
