“We are very satisfied with this result. Although it is a decline from the previous championship [where it won a silver medal], Indonesia’s national team has given its best performance. This can also be an extra motivation for our athletes to be able to further improve their quality in the years to come,” said Indonesian Cheerleading Federation (FCSI) chairman Oki Trihartomo in a statement.

According to Oki, Indonesia is still a "baby" in cheerleading, compared to Japan, Thailand or European countries that have more than 20 years of experience.

“Our hope is for cheerleading to become better known among Indonesians in the future. This way we can nurture qualified Indonesian cheerleading athletes that can make the nation proud in the international arena."
