hirty-year-old explorer Dewi Anggraini Nurfadilah is set to conquer the Arctic Circle on Fjällräven Polar 2020, an annual international expedition held by Swedish outdoor brand Fjällräven.
Dewi, who was chosen through online voting, will represent the Asia-Oceania zone (Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand) alongside Singaporean explorer Hadi Rosman, who was picked by the jury.
In a statement released on Thursday, Dewi expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to fly the Indonesian national flag on the expedition.

“Alhamdulillah [thank God], my dream to fly our red and white flag on the global scene through Fjällräven Polar’s Arctic Circle Expedition has come true. I am also proud to be the first Indonesian woman to take on the Arctic Circle in this event,” she said.
Dewi has previously climbed 20 mountains across the nation, including Mount Slamet, Mount Sumbing, Mount Gede Pangrango, Mount Kerinci and Mount Ambon. She regularly shares her travel experiences to her 46,900 followers on Instagram, with her Fjällräven Polar 2020 announcement post commented by more than 300 people.
