festival focusing on hatha yoga is to be held for the first time at the Wyndham Tamansari Jivva Resort in Bali’s Klungkung regency from March 14 to 15.

Hatha yoga is a branch of yoga that focuses on physical technique.

According to a statement from the organizers, the Classical Hatha Yoga Festival this year is to include, among other events, Surya Shakti, which is said to boost practitioners’ energy; Spine Strengthening, which consists of poses to strengthen the spine; and Bhuta Shuddhi Initiation, which aims to balance the participants’ physique and mental state.

The festival also provides sessions for beginners in yoga, named Upa Yoga, and a meditation process named Dhyanam.

The yoga teachers are said to be former students of Isha School of Hatha Yoga in India.

Tickets to the event are available starting from Rp 800,000 (US$56.33) for Indonesians and $100 for foreigners on the festival’s website. (wir/kes)
