ndonesian singer Stephanie Poetri was among the lineup of Asia Rising Forever, a virtual festival promoted by American music collective 88rising, which was held on Thursday.

Stephanie, daughter of acclaimed singer Titi DJ, moved to the United States last year to pursue her musical career.

“I always wanted to be a singer growing up because my mom was a singer. It has always been my dream,” she said before playing her set.

The 20-year-old singer is best known for her single “I Love You 3000”, which topped the Billboard China Social Chart in October last year.

“Growing up, I always thought that being Asian was also considered being an outsider in America," she said. "Despite being half-American, I still feel like a large part of my identity is Asian. It's really cool to be a part of this collection of great Asian artists."

In the Asia Rising Forever festival, Stephanie sang "I Love You 3000” and a cover of Lewis Capaldi’s song, “Someone You Loved”.

According to Antara news agency, it raised Rp 330 million for the nonprofit Asian Americans Advancing Justice and donations are open until Monday.

Hosted by Korean-American rapper Dumbfoundead, Asia Rising Forever featured 23 artists performing from their own places of quarantine, including Phum Viphurit, Luna Li, Higher Brothers, Yuna, Hyukoh, CLC, Keshi, Kang Daniel and LOONA.

Indonesian rapper Rich Brian and Indonesian singer NIKI, who also moved to the US to pursue their musical careers with 88rising, were also included in the lineup. Rich Brian performed two tracks, "Tokyo Drift Freestyle" and "Bali" and showed his talent by coming up with a brand new song in the festival. (gis/wng)
