outh Korean companies SM Entertainment and JYP Entertainment will establish a joint concert company through Beyond LIVE, a live concert streaming service created by SM and technology company Naver.

Beyond LIVE Corporation (BLC) is the first company that specializes in online concerts that combine SM’s producing abilities, JYP’s global network and Naver’s technology, as reported by Soompi.

Launched in April, Beyond LIVE started with SM group SuperM and has since featured other SM artists with the use of augmented reality and interactive elements. It seeks to go beyond merely broadcasting concerts by providing digital concert content optimized for the online world, including live chats between stars and fans and “digital light sticks”.

The Korea Herald reported that the Beyond Live concert of NCT 127 in April was surprisingly intimate. Along with a new technological feature called “Multi-cam”, where additional cameras were installed and provided close-up shots of each member, the AR visual effects were considered impressive. Active interaction between artists and fans were also noted.
