acebook Indonesia has introduced Rakit Bangkit, an online discussion forum for young people to increase their communal spirits amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Many challenges that were previously unimaginable have occurred amid the pandemic,” Revie Sylviana, head of entertainment content partnership of Facebook Indonesia, said during a press conference on Wednesday.

Virtual discussions on various topics in Rakit Bangkit will air on Facebook Indonesia's page and partner pages from Friday to Sunday. Speakers will talk about mental health and share tips on how to stay productive while being at home.

The speaker lineup includes various experts and celebrities like singer Raisa, host and actor Raffi Ahmad, model Ayu Gani and content creator Atta Halilintar.

Jennifer Bachdim, model and wife of soccer star Irfan Bachdim, will share her routine of working out at home to increase physical health and mental stability. Celebrity chef Arnold Poernomo will present a cooking show. While HR professional and internet personality Samuel Ray will give career coaching and professional content-building tips on Instagram.

Psychiatrist Nova Riyanti Yusuf will also be present at the event to share her thoughts on mental health amid collective suffering such as a pandemic.

“On the first day, we want to ask participants to maintain a healthy mind. Just like Dr. Nova Riyanti Yusuf said, if you want to be productive you have to build your mentality. When your mentality is healthy, you can be productive,” Revie said.

For the three-day event, Facebook Indonesia is also raising funds through donation platform Kitabisa.com. All proceeds will go to Rumah Gemilang, a foundation focusing on empowering jobless youth.

Revie said Rakit Bangkit was the first event of its kind in Indonesia. Previously, the same program had been run in India and in the Philippines. (wng)
