SBY's announcement of Boediono as his VP nominee has been lauded by the majority of the public, but has been shot down by his opponents.

It is time that Indonesia was led by a VP who is a professional. A political party leader as VP is basically not a good idea because the past has proven that they only think of their own political agenda and the party's interests and benefits, and usually do not care about the nation or the needs of the people.

Boediono is an excellent choice; he does not have a political agenda and he has a healthy professional reputation and code of ethics, and that is what this country needs at the moment.

SBY has elevated the reputation of this country abroad, and under his leadership with the assistance of two professional ladies - Sri Mulyani and Mari Elke Pangestu - Indonesia's economy flourished.

Indonesia has not suffered badly from the impact of the global economic crisis due to these ladies, although this crisis is far from over. With Boediono as VP, Indonesia's economy and financial condition will only improve more and more.

Other party leaders who have served this country in the past have not contributed substantially to improving the economic and financial situation of Indonesia, and corruptors had a heyday.

At the moment the public does not need political promises; what the people want and need now is genuine action and positive results. So far we have already experienced SBY's leadership, he promised to clean up this country from corruptors and he did and is still doing so.

Previous leaders have promised to do so but they never did. Corruption flourished even more. We therefore hope that SBY with Boediono by his side as VP will be elected to lead this country for the next five years.
