AKARTA: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned actor Herman Felani on Friday as a witness in a corruption case implicating city advertising official Journal Effendy Siahaan.

Herman, who shot to stardom after his role in Mencari Cinta (In Search of Love) in 1979, is the owner of a company that produces advertisements for TV stations.

The KPK has also identified him as president director of PT Arjuna Widya Karya, a general trading company. He is also listed as the owner of a coal mining company called Pandawa Lima Putra Sulawesi.

Journal, who was named a suspect last year, is alleged to have demanded a 10 percent cut from the 2006—2007 city’s advertising budget of Rp 5.6 billion and embezzled Rp 3.9 billion. — JP
