rap up your visit to Bali Safari and Marine Park with a night at the Mara River Safari Lodge and behold the panoramic view of the African savannah area.
In the spacious rooms, the wildlife experience continues on.
Only meters away from the room’s terrace, you can see rhinos, zebras, buffalos and exotic birds strolling by. That’s a breathtaking view you don’t see everyday from your own bedroom!
Bring the carrot basket provided in your room and take an afternoon walk to the Kiboko swimming pool area.
There, you can meet deer wandering around the bushes next to the lodges. Go easy with these shy, friendly creatures. Approach them slowly and, most importantly, do not shout while offering them the carrots. Kids will absolutely love this rare attraction!
When night comes, be prepared to be pampered by the sounds of crickets, frogs and the river, which flows just beneath the room’s terrace.
Lanterns mounted on the corners of the terrace superbly enrich the safari ambience. The variety of tropical plants and fruit trees surrounding the lodge make you feel as if you are camping out in the middle of a rainforest.
If you stay at the Mara River Safari Lodge, you must dine at the Tsavo Lion Restaurant, located directly next to the lion compound. The unique restaurant derives its name from the legendary pair of Tsavo lions, famous for killing and eating more than 100 railway workers on the Kenya-Uganda Railway in 1898.
With a towering thatched rooftop and full-length glass panels forming an observation deck surrounding the restaurant, Tsavo Lion delivers a unique dining experience as if you are the king of the jungle.
Enjoy the scrumptious, pan-seared potato skin salmon with duo capsicum puree, rusty pumpkin and asparagus, which recently won the 8th Bali Culinary Competition, while the wild beasts prowl around the glass panels.
But not to worry, a moat protects the restaurant from the lions. Lions are not very fond of water.
For a more up-close encounter with the alpha male lion, take a peek inside the ladies bathroom. The small, comfy nook right outside the bathroom’s glass panel looks out on where the mighty king usually spends his time napping.
The Tsavo Lion’s low light makes it perfect for a romantic dinner with a loved one. You can view the lions lazing around while others eagerly snatch up chicken meat from guests taking the night safari jeep, surely a tale
to share with your family and friends.
