ALEMBANG: Indonesian diva Agnes Monica and Malaysian singers Siti Nurhaliza and Jaclyn Victor are scheduled to perform during opening ceremony of the 26th SEA Games.

“The opening ceremony of the 2011 Games will be much merrier than the Laos Games in 2009,” event organizer Helmi Yahya said in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Friday.

Helmi said the ceremony would be hosted by presenter Oki Lukman, Raffi Ahmad and himself.

The three hosts are well-known masters of ceremony on Indonesian television. Besides highlighting the country’s cultural performances, the event will also include a 20-minute fireworks display and electric canvas entertainment at the Jakabaring sports grounds in Palembang’s Jakabaring Sports City.

“We will have a Games opening ceremony that is full of color and special effects,” said Helmi, adding that the Indonesian organizers hired the fireworks specialist that handled the display at the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony in 2008.
