These people were distorting a religion of peace and using it as a cloak for their sins. Islam places the highest emphasis on human rights and condemns any acts of violence.

What they have done has proven that law enforcement in our country, and especially in Jakarta, does not function as it should. Many of the police officers are indifferent.

What a stupid cafe owner!

Once again the mob reigns. The State has betrayed the trust of its law- abiding taxpayers. Police boasts are nothing but hot air, and evil smelling at that.

The police shouldn’t have a habit of warning they will crack down on illegal raids without really meaning what they say; we should know that not everyone in Jakarta is fasting during our fasting season, especially foreign tourists.

Where should they go when they get hungry or thirsty in this hot/dry capital city of ours?

What has made people so fanatical about religion? Do we not already have a Religious Affairs Ministry
to avoid such fanatical extracurricular (and economically harmful) activities?

We already have the ministry concerned, and the police to assure peace and stability in our city — we certainly do not need unprofessional peacekeepers, do we? Remember: we need more taxpayers! Not the other way around!
