Remember that members of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) were not victims, but the perpetrators of human rights violations
emember that members of the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) were not victims, but the perpetrators of human rights violations. We already know that the PKI twice staged a coup in this beloved republic. The first coup, or rebellion, is better known as the Madiun Affair in 1948, and the second are the G30S/PKI events in 1965.
The second movement is the black history of our nation. This was not only a coup but also included killings, which saw attacks against the leadership of the National Army. Not only that, in all elements ranging from the politic, economic and even cultural aspects they commit atrocities. It is a dark history of our beloved nation.
After a few decades in Indonesia, especially following reforms in the country, the perpetrators of the coup concealed facts to hide the human rights violations.
Chairman of the Association of Graduates of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Ali Masykur Moesa assessed that the G30S/PKI history has been turned upside down by reports of human rights violations by victims of the G30S/PKI to National Human Rights Commission.
Therefore, the House of Representatives and the government do not need to apologize for reporting violations of human rights, because the G30S/PKI rebellion was a coup by the PKI.
The PKI rebellion in Madiun in 1948 and G30S in 1965 were counter-insurgency efforts, not a violation of human rights: this is because the PKI is not the victim, but rather the perpetrator.
