ebumen Police chief Adj.Sr.Comr.Heru Trisasono has confirmed that three of seven alleged terrorists were killed in an overnight raid on a house in Kembaran hamlet, Ungaran village, Kutowinangun district, Kebumen regency.
'In last night's raid that lasted until morning, three people were shot after they resisted arrest,' said Heru on Thursday as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said police officers fired at the alleged terrorists because they had ignored repeated warnings to surrender and instead resisted arrest.
'The remaining four terrorists were arrested unharmed. Two were arrested inside the house while the other two were caught outside the house,' said Heru.
He said the police had yet to learn the identities of the suspected terrorists.
'We don't know their names yet. We just secured the location,' said Heru, adding that it was unclear if the suspects were connected to suspected terrorists recently arrested in Bandung.
'We are still investigating the matter, but counterterrorism unit Densus 88 has more information about it,' he added.
The police removed the bodies of the three alleged terrorists from the location using two ambulances at 9:30 a.m. (asw/ebf)
